MEET ERIC

Eric C. Williams is the Founder and CEO of Eric C. Williams, PLLC, a boutique law firm, specializing in Intellectual Property and Business Contracts.  He is committed to empowering entrepreneurs, small businesses and creatives, ensuring their growth and success.

Eric's influence extends beyond the courtroom, as he engages audiences as a global keynote speaker and thought leader on pressing issues like surveillance, AI and emerging technologies, IP challenges, and affordable housing solutions. With a career spanning Wayne State University Law School as a law professor, and practicing at prestigious New York firms, including Nixon Peabody, LLP, and Winston & Strawn, LLP, Eric brings a wealth of experience to his practice.

His devotion to community development began in the nonprofit sector, benefiting organizations like Focus: Hope in Detroit and the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island in New York. As a BMe fellow and a respected speaker for local entrepreneurship programs and community events, he actively shapes and uplifts his community.

Notably, Eric serves as a board member of the Detroit Cultivator Community Land Trust and is a member of the Lawyers Committee for the Michigan ACLU, where he passionately advocates for the delicate balance between technological advancement and its ethical considerations. His remarkable leadership played a pivotal role in championing Chapter 17 of the 2019 Detroit City Code, advancing the cause of Community Input over the Government Surveillance Ordinance. Through his multifaceted approach to advocacy, Eric works toward a brighter, more equitable future for his city and beyond.
